Luciana was brought up in Rome through her father and mother - Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian military officer. Her maternal grandmother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was once one of Benito Mussolini's lovers. It is not known if she had having siblings. Luciana studied at a local school before matriculating to the Scientific Academy of Milan in 1955. Luciana was one of the only women in the class. After two years of modeling she landed a role in Three Coins in the Fountain. It was her first role. Her first husband was Brett Halsey who is also an actor. The couple got married in the year 1960 and filmed the film Return to the Peyton Palace. Luciana received custody of the children following the divorce. They welcomed a baby boy known as Charles that was born on June 1961. Luciana enjoyed a lengthy relationship with Tony Athony. He was an actor and film producer. Tony was inspired by Luciana's role as Green Slime in Green Slime to create the Spaghetti Western.
