Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox was a student at her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London in the 1970s. She took a course in harpsichord as well as the flute for three whole years. The student received a stipend and did part-time jobs to help supplement her income. Lennox as she was studying in the Royal Academy of Music in London, was disappointed with her performance compared to her fellow students. She began considering different options. Lennox played flute in a band formed in 1976 called Dragons Playground. The group broke up just before their appearance at the time of I.T.V's Talent show New Faces. The singer was the primary singer for The Tourists a British pop band from 1977 to 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Lennox started working on her debut solo album Diva and it was released around 1992. It had a tremendous record both in terms of commercial and critical. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. This C.D. contains a selection of Lennoxs most loved soul jazz and blues tunes that she grew up with. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox has released Lepidoptera which is a compilation of four piano tracks that she improvised. The E.P. is a companion piece to her artwork in The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art named"Now I'll Let You Go... This is her first album that was released on her own. Later, with Dave Stewart and other musicians they became known as the Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album from 1992 Diva featured a myriad of smash songs, including Why andWalking On Broken Glass. Medusa the album she released in 1995 features cover versions of her songs such as No MoreI I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. The singer has produced six solo studio albums as well a compilation album to her credit. |
