Ina Garten is well-known American cookery book author and Emmy award-winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa which began in 2002 and has aired 27 seasons until 2020. Ina started her career with nuclear energy policy and budgets for the White House. In the beginning, she found her work as stimulating intellectually, however she soon lost interest, and purchased a tiny grocery store that was named Barefoot Contessa. It took her 18 years to turn the store into wildly successful, before she sold it. Then she began writing one of her cookbooks. A number of other cookbooks and magazine columns followed. The Food Network TV show also was launched, and was a huge hit. Additionally, she sells items that range from food items to storage containers and equipment. Ina she is a self-taught cook, has never studied at a culinary school or in a hotel. Ina is well-known for her unpretentious approach to entertainment and simple food preparation. Her most famous recipes are the lemon chicken that she grills in a skillet, Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon and the Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
